Most Americans will not buy Facebook cryptocurrency

According to a CivicScience study, the majority of Americans are not ready to buy Libra cryptocurrency from Facebook due to distrust of the project and the social network. The company conducted a survey in which 1799 people took part. Only 5% of them answered that they are interested in the new altcoin and Calibra cryptocurrency wallet. These young people from 18 to 24 years old have experience using mobile payment applications such as Venmo and Apple Pay. At the same time, about 86% of the participants have a negative attitude towards the Facebook initiative.

Experts reported that they conducted a survey among 2100 Americans in July, nearly 79% of which heard of such cryptocurrencies as Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum, and Ripple. At the same time, only 6% have ever invested in digital money. Half of these people were unhappy with this experience.

According to CivicScience, most people view cryptocurrencies as a long-term investment, not a means of payment. In addition, about 40% of those polled reported “much more” trust in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies than in Libra. They do not believe in favor of the Facebook project.
