SEC postponed the decision on Bitcoin-ETF

The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) didn’t approve the launch of Bitcoin-ETF from Bitwise company on the NYSE Arca exchange. The financial regulator should have responded before May 16. However, the SEC decided to take additional time to consider the application. Bitwise filed an application in January of this year. SEC began to study it since February 15.

The financial regulator hasn’t approved any of the proposed Bitcoin-ETF at the moment. A week later, the SEC must decide on the application from VanEck and SolidX companies to change the Chicago Stock Exchange Options (CBOE) rules for listing new contracts.

The Bitwise Foundation conducted a survey in January. More than 100 financial advisers from the United States participated in it. About 58% of them reported that they would prefer to invest in cryptocurrencies with the help of ETF. According to experts, the approval of the new instrument will be a powerful signal for the major players. Therefore, the costs of digital money will be much higher.
